1st Emperor of China who developed the Eight Trigrams of the Chi
When in early antiquity, Fu Hsi, ruled the world, he looked upward and contemplated the brilliant forms exhibited in the sky. He looked downward and contemplated the patterns shown on the earth. He contemplated the ornamental appearances of birds and beasts and their adaptations to the regions. He proceeded directly from himself and indirectly from objects. On this, he devised the Eight Trigrams, to show fully the attributes of the spirit-like and intelligent operations working secretly, and to classify the qualities of the myriad beings.
