Kuan Prayer
A LIVING PRAYER
I wrote this Heart, (Kokoro) with pampas grass (Suzuki) instead of a brush to invoke my love of the natural world. I enjoyed the feeling of the plant’s delicate spontaneity as it moved across the page.
Below the Kokoro, I wrote the Ten Line Longevity Sutra revealed by Kuan Yin, ( Kuan-shi-yin, Kannon) —a bodhisattva of compassion and mercy—“She who hears the cries of the world.” I offer it as a living prayer to alleviate the suffering of all beings and restore healing, protection, and peace to our world.
